The pre-work involved development of an upload facility for an excel file which serves to provide template data for a dashboard application. I was able to develop the functionality working within the application’s framework which utilizes JSF, Spring, iBatis, Acegi, Log4j, Oracle 10g database. I developed the JSF page which provided the UI for the file upload and I coded the Managed Bean, the facade classes, the DAO classes and the DAO implementation classes as well as the iBatis sql mapping files which are XML files. I also edited the JSF faces-config.xml for the navigation of the pages as well as Spring applicationContext.xml file to provide the facade classes to the bean and dao’s to the facade. The managed bean processes the file and saves it to the server file system. Once the file is saved I used the Apache POI-HSSF library to process and parse the excel file and saved the contents to the Oracle database.

Seer Client: Guest Relationship Management Application, Developer. The Guest Relationship Management application forms part of an online web application provided by Client to its customers and which provides Hoteliers with the ability to provide special privileges and benefits to guests of their property thereby increasing customer loyalty. I was assigned to the project during the middle to later stages of construction and contributed to the project by developing the Account Admin module using the Zend Framework. The module provides authentication and management of account clients. I also developed a custom template system using the Zend Framework. I also implemented the template system provided by the client. I applied the template styles provided by the client to the pages of the application. I also assisted in implementing navigation UI functionality and contributed to cross-browser functionality of javascript used in certain pages.

I have developed a prototype web application for a new global version of their website. The application allows a built-in administrator account to login and create new users. Once new users are created they can login and view pages only accessible to logged in users. The application monitors and logs application related events and any errors which occur. This information is saved to an SQL Server 2005 database. The application is built using ASP .NET 2.0 utilizing the Membership API and Health monitoring features. The application also uses Themes and MasterPages, as well as the Sitemap provider. A custom user management facility mimics the ASP .NET Configuration interface for user management.

The project required the conversion of their printed Employee handbook to a digital format accessible only to their employees. As the developer, I was present in meetings to outline requirements for the project and followed the requirements document prepared by the Project Manager. I implemented the conversion of the design provided by the client to XHTML and CSS. The application was developed using the .NET 2.0 framework and SQL Server 2005. The Membership API, MasterPages, and Sitemap features of the framework were used. Adobe Flex 2.0 was used to develop the Flash application which loaded and displayed the HTML files which made up Employee handbook content. A simple Flash animation was also developed. I integrated a third-party poll/survey application converting the VB .NET code to C#. I also implemented the user management functionality using a third party wrapper class for the Membership API.
